ROMAN SHADES
When you think of a classic, timeless window treatment, Roman Shades always come to mind. They soften a room because they are made of fabric and are a great option when coordinating with drapery, bedding, pillows and upholstered furniture. From a design perspective, the possibilities are endless.
Traditionally, because of the way Roman Shades are made, you visibly see the guide cords on the back of them from the outside of your home. If you choose a fabric from a fabric manufacturer to have your Roman Shades made then this is how they are made. Usually this is what homeowners do not like about Roman Shades.
If this does not bother you or if you are coordinating with specific fabrics that require it, then this is still an option. If it does bother you or if you are wanting a simple solid color or neutral, we have another option for you. With our second option, you choose from specific fabrics that can be made with a liner on the back of them, therefore from the outside of your home you see a flat liner instead of guide cords.
Besides a vast array of fabric choices to choose from, there are also different styles of Roman Shades that are available. The two that are currently on trend and most commonly used are Ribbed and Flat. Ribbed Roman Shades are the style that we typically recommend because of the way that they are constructed, it helps them fold up evenly when you raise them up. Some other styles of Roman Shades are Knife Pleat, Relaxed and Hobbled.

Roman Shades have a variety of ways to operate them. The most common is cordless, which has a handle hidden on the bottom of the shade for you to manually lift and close, keeping hands off of your beautiful fabric! Depending on how high your windows are, sometimes cordless can be a problem. For the best ease of use we suggest motorized Roman Shades. With the touch of a button your shades will open or close quietly without anyone ever having to touch each individual shade. Besides cordless or motorized, your other option is a cord loop that you manually use to lift or lower your shades. Roman Shades are also available in the top down/bottom up design or you can put multiple shades on one headrail for a chic, functional design.
For a fashionable designer look, add trim or banding to your Roman Shades. It can be added down the sides or across the bottom to add interest, pattern or color to your room. You can also choose a standard liner to allow some softened light into your room or a blackout liner, perfect for bedrooms for ultimate light control.
