DRAPERY

Our custom drapery will instantly transform any home and room. It is one of the most important window treatments from a design perspective and often overlooked by homeowners. Drapery brings your eye up visually, accentuating ceiling height, making your room look larger. It also brings fabric and texture into a room that often looks stark and unfinished without it, warming up a space and creating a beautifully designed finished look. Whether it’s fully functioning drapery that can be completely closed or decorative side panels just to enhance your design, custom drapery should always be considered in your home.

Modern living room with a large beige sectional sofa, glass coffee table, and tall ceiling with exposed wooden beams. The room has elegant chandeliers, floor-to-ceiling curtains, and an open kitchen area with white cabinets and stainless-steel appliances in the background.

The current trend for drapery is to keep it very simple. Long gone are the days of heavy, overly done fabrics and layers. Drapery should enhance your light and view, not take away from it. Typically drapery will outlast your furniture and decor so by choosing solid neutral colors or sheers you will be getting the most out of your investment for a long time to come.

There are many ways to incorporate pattern, texture and design into drapery and yet still keep it simple. One such way is by choosing a patterned fabric. Modern, geometric prints are the current trend but there are also plenty of embroidered, floral and specialty prints to choose from to enhance any style and palette. There are also decorative trims and banding that can be added to the leading edge to add an extra element of design and coordinate with other fabrics in the room.

When considering window treatments for bedrooms or any space where people will be sleeping, drapery is the best option for true blackout. Many other window treatments will provide room darkening liners or fabrics but if you are light sensitive, those options will not provide you with as much light control as drapery does. We suggest layering your blackout drapery with other window treatments that can be used during the day to be able to have light and heat control without completely darkening your room.
